The Estonian mobility software developer Bamboo Apps will reveal its brand new in-vehicle onboarding system at GITEX 2022. A smart AR-enhanced solution for mobile devices and in-vehicle infotainment systems, it is designed with OEMs, vehicle rental services, and car dealerships as the main target audience in mind.
The IVO system sets out to improve customer experience, eliminate driver confusion, and increase road safety by streamlining the onboarding process of new clients. It gives the driver an augmented tour of the vehicle’s main and advanced functions by utilising the smartphone camera and a context-sensitive voice assistant. The latter provides relevant explanations based on the driver’s behaviour or the state of the vehicle during a trip.
When a driver boards a new vehicle, they can open the mobile application, point the device camera at, say, the steering wheel, and receive a pop-up explaining its various features. Alternatively, the user can choose to have a quick tour around the cabin to learn about the vehicle’s basic functionality. The driver will also receive tips from the IVO voice assistant embedded in the IVI system whenever they encounter a situation where a certain function could be useful for the first time: for example, the driver is informed of the cruise control feature after travelling at a speed above 80 km/h for 5 minutes.
